Workout App

Terms of Use

Effective 20 September 2026

Important health and safety notice

This app is not medical advice, medical care, or a substitute for a doctor, physiotherapist, dietitian, or in-person personal trainer. Always seek professional advice before starting any workout program or changing exercise, nutrition, supplements, or any health intervention. Follow your doctor's advice first.

Do not use the app for diagnosis, treatment, medication decisions, urgent decisions, or emergencies. Stop immediately and seek appropriate help if you feel unwell, have pain, dizziness, chest pain, unusual shortness of breath, or any other worrying symptom. Call your local emergency service for an emergency.

1. Agreement and eligibility

These Terms govern your use of Workout, operated by James Blankley, including its website, Android wrapper, features, integrations, and related services. By creating an account, signing in, or using the service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You must provide accurate information and keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account. If you are under the age required to make this agreement in your location, use the service only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian.

2. AI and coaching limitations

AI can and does get things wrong. AI-generated workouts, exercise cues, form reviews, swaps, progression suggestions, coaching summaries, food identification, serving sizes, macro estimates, experiment insights, and health-data interpretations may be incomplete, inaccurate, unsuitable, delayed, or based on missing data.

The service does not promise that an AI result is safe, suitable for your body or circumstances, or correct. You remain responsible for deciding whether and how to act on it.

3. Your responsibility during exercise

You are responsible for choosing a safe environment, using equipment correctly, selecting an appropriate load, warming up when appropriate, following professional advice, and stopping when your form or health deteriorates. Do not attempt a load, exercise, or movement because the app displays it if you cannot perform it safely.

Ask a qualified professional for clearance and an appropriate plan if you have an injury, medical condition, pregnancy, recent surgery, symptoms, or any concern about exercise. The app cannot know all of your medical history, medications, contraindications, or surroundings.

4. Nutrition and food information

Food searches, barcode results, label readings, photos, serving conversions, calorie estimates, macros, and AI food answers are estimates or catalogue information unless you independently confirm them. Brands, recipes, preparation methods, serving sizes, labels, and products vary.

Check the package, ingredients, allergens, serving size, and nutrition panel yourself. Do not rely on the service for allergy decisions, medical diets, eating-disorder treatment, medication interactions, or other health-critical nutrition decisions. Ask a qualified healthcare professional or dietitian where appropriate.

5. Health devices and experiments

Health Connect, rings, watches, scales, sleep devices, and other integrations can provide delayed, incomplete, duplicated, or inaccurate readings. The app is not a continuous health monitor and must not be used as one. A missing or unusual reading is not proof that you are safe or unwell.

Experiments and comparisons are personal tracking tools, not clinical trials and not medical research. They do not establish that an intervention works, is safe, or should replace professional care. Speak with your doctor before starting, stopping, or changing supplements, medication, sleep interventions, or any other health intervention.

6. Content, uploads, and third-party services

You are responsible for the content you enter or upload and for having the right to share it. Do not upload another person's private information, image, video, or health data without permission. Do not upload content that is unlawful, harmful, abusive, or infringing.

The service may connect to third-party services such as Google Health Connect, YouTube, Instagram, Open Food Facts, device services, hosting providers, and AI providers. Those services have their own terms, availability, privacy practices, and data errors. We do not control or guarantee third-party services.

7. Acceptable use and account action

You must not misuse the service, bypass security, interfere with its operation, scrape or copy private data, upload malware, impersonate another person, or use it to provide professional advice to others without appropriate qualifications.

We may suspend or close accounts, remove content, limit features, or stop processing when reasonably necessary for safety, security, legal compliance, service integrity, or an account's breach of these Terms. You may stop using the service at any time and may request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Availability and liability

The service is provided on an "as available" basis. We do not promise uninterrupted operation, error-free results, complete records, continuous device synchronisation, or that the service will meet every personal goal. Keep your own important records and do not rely on the service as your only source of health or training information.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for loss, injury, illness, damage, or decisions resulting from your use of, or reliance on, the service, its AI outputs, device data, third-party data, or uploaded content. This does not exclude or limit liability, rights, remedies, or guarantees that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Australian consumer notice: Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to cancel your service contract with us and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

9. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms when the service, law, or data practices change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
